BUILT FOR THOSE
WHO NEVER FIT THE MOuLD
The mission of our union is clear:
We want to train changemakers
and rebel leaders to build boldly
and belong deeply — together.
WHY WE STARTED
It began with a pattern we couldn’t unsee—changemakers running on empty, armed with tools that no longer worked.
We’ve spent years working with changemakers—movement leaders, policy gurus, grassroots organizers, systems strategists—brilliant humans with fire in their bellies. And over and over again, we saw that fire start to dim. Not because people didn’t care. But because the world kept coming at them faster and harder, while the tools they were handed—dusty playbooks, soulless webinars, recycled tactics—just weren’t built for this moment.
That’s what made us build Rogue Union.
We wanted to create the kind of space we knew the world needed:
Where learning isn’t just brain-deep, but soul-deep.
Where training means building real muscles—not just getting a folder of PDFs.
Where community isn’t an afterthought, but the very thing that makes the whole thing work.
We’ve seen too many trainings where joy was missing, PowerPoint ruled supreme, the “gold standard” for venues was a windowless hotel ballroom, and no one remembered anything—except how drained they felt after. So we started doing it differently. As facilitators, we broke the mould. We placed rest, play, and full human presence at the center of our work (and we took people out of ballrooms, to sit under trees, with their bare feet on the grass). And a funny thing happened: people came alive again. They remembered why they were doing this work in the first place.
We watched tired NGO leaders sleep through the night for the first time in years. We watched teams cry together—not from stress, but because they finally felt seen. We saw deep bonds form in long walks and long lunches. And we realized: Rest is not distraction. It is the work.
In the years since, we’ve hosted some of the most magical online and offline spaces for changemakers from all over the world. We've seen that when you pair science-backed design with real irreverence, humanity, and care, people can find deep connection—even in Zoom rooms. Especially in Zoom rooms.
In short, it’s not just about what you teach. It’s about how you hold the space.
Because people can only take bold leaps when they feel safe, held, and nourished.
WHO WE ARE

We’re Krizna Gomez and Ishtar Lakhani.
One’s a recovering human rights lawyer turned futurist from the Philippines, the other a queer feminist “free radical” from South Africa who makes power quiver with her creativity. We met at a human rights gathering in São Paulo more than a decade ago, and instantly recognized something in each other: methodological rebels with no interest in playing by the book.
Since then, we’ve gone rogue from our NGO jobs and found joyful freedom in carving our own paths. We’ve helped movements, foundations, individual leaders and justice-loving misfits reimagine their strategies, push past their comfort zones, and start doing the work like they mean it.
We’ve accompanied hundreds of changemakers who were hungry for something more: more powerful, more imaginative, more joyful, more real.
And now, we’ve built Rogue Union as a home for exactly that.
A home for the movement-makers and misfits.
For the rebels with receipts.
For the “blue-sky lunatics” (as WIRED calls them) who believe another world is possible—if we stop trying to save the world with broken tools.

WHAT MAKES OUR
APPROACH DIFFERENT
Every course trains real muscles.
You don’t just sit and watch—you practice. You test. You discover which “muscles” you need to wake up, and you train them the fastest and most sustainable way possible.
We cut the theory that doesn’t serve you.
Most trainings are either drowning in jargon or so “feel-good” that they leave you with nothing solid. We’ve spent years testing what actually helps people build powerful, lasting skills, and created a magic sauce that exists nowhere else.
Neuroscience meets bold frameworks.
Changemakers don’t need dull lectures — they need learning that sticks. We use neuroscience to turn complex frameworks into lasting behavioural shifts at work and in personal life.
Each offering is a fusion of a course + community.
After most courses, people hit a wall: full of tools but no one to practice with, energized but unsure how to start. Courses give you momentum; community keeps it alive. One without the other? Not enough. But together? They change everything.
The real gem are the people.
The real magic of Rogue Union is in the members beside you. You may come for the course, but it’s the connections and shared wisdom that make you stay—your global intel network, and a home you return to after the hardest days.
OUR BUSINESS MODEL
Modeled after unions
We took our cue from real labor unions, where even people with modest incomes contribute because they know it serves their needs and protects their future.

Challenging old habits
Too often, changemakers hesitate to spend on themselves — as if their growth should come last. We believe the opposite: your learning, your renewal, and your skills are worth investing in.

Naming real value
Cutting-edge training has value. Magical community has value. And most of all, your growth has value — you shouldn’t have to apologize for fueling yourself, because you can’t give when your own tank is empty.

Independent by choice
We said no to donor dependence or ad money. Rogue Union is thus one of the rare, truly member-owned homes for social impact.

Walking our talk
For years, we’ve urged peers to find bold ways to sustain their work beyond donor funding. Now, we’re doing it ourselves: a self-sustaining community where membership fees make this whole thing possible.
